The data are divided into three categories based on their altitude range. Observations of the E region are made between altitudes of 85 and 285 km. For observing valley region and so-called "150 kilometer" echoes, altitudes between 135 and 190 km are sampled since 2001. The F region observing mode samples altitudes between 95 up to 1994.75 km. The timeline below shows how these various observations are nowadays distributed over a 24 hour day.
